Gases can Kill -- Monitoring for hazardous gases continuously during tunnel construction is essential due to the high speed of gas releases. Pockets of natural gas or hydrogen sulfide are unpredictable, and, when they occur, the gas release can inundate the tunnel atmosphere. Tunnel boring through tar sands, coal seams or petroleum fields is especially hazardous, and only a dependable and fast acting gas monitoring system (GMS) can provide instant warning to workers. Rel-Tek has pioneered in manufacturing gas monitoring components and systems for mines and tunnels since 1980, and presently provides the state of the art technologies for these markets...(download PDF to read more)
